TEA SET, 1931

Sutnar’s tea set is often compared with a more famous set designed by Wilhelm Wagenfeld in the same year. While the Bauhaus designer’s work was intended for childless couples who engaged in intellectual conversation at Japanese tea ceremonies, Sutnar’s service was intended for a broader segment of society; it cries out for the family to get together for tea and cakes.
